Confused, Lafayette agrees, but is distracted by Tara and Mary-anne, who has brainwashed Bon Temps. Lafayette, suffering from an infected wound in his leg, drinks Eric’s blood to heal himself, on the proviso that he continue to sell blood at Eric’s command. Lafayette is eventually found by Sookie Stackhouse, who ends his ordeal in the Basement of Horrors. Lafayette’s supplier goes missing (kidnapped by Jason Stackhouse), and Lafayette himself is kidnapped and kept in Fangtasia’s basement to suffer the wrath of Pam and Eric. Acting as a prostitute to maintain his supply of V, Lafayette attracts the attention of Sheriff Eric Northman, who does not take kindly to the desecration of his kind. Tornado Tara whirls into his work and home, and Lafayette’s questionable lifestyle begins to spin out of control. When we first meet Lafayette he seems to be doing well for himself: a steady job(s), a house and car of his own and an ability to sleep with anyone – and I mean anyone. His ingenuity and resourcefulness has attracted attention from people, good and bad, human and non-human: and this has not always worked in his favour. This long list of professions include: fry cook, council worker, drug dealer and finally, the oldest profession, prostitute.
